Video– Sea-Level Rise: A Slow-Motion Disaster | Center for American Progress

The Center for American Progress, a nonpartisan institution, investigates the impact of sea level rise in Norfolk, Virginia, where a large storm in 2009 convinced officials that inaction was not an option for the coastal city.

In the video (available below), the Center discusses the merits of preventative measures, and suggests that, as “more than one-third of Americans live in a county with a shoreline”, the issue of sea level rise is not only Norfolk’s to contend with.
