The Hurricane of 1938: An Oral History Told by Nancy Allen Holst

In April 27, 1977 Jan Hutton interviewed Mrs. Nancy Allen Holst about the Hurricane of 1938.  Holst was State District Forest Fire Warden for the Department of Agriculture and Conservation and was “also one of only two licensed pilots in the state in the 1930s.”  During the interview Holst recounts the events that she experienced during the 38 Hurricane and how she helped during the aftermath.
