Rhode Island Working to Adapt to Climate Change

View this recent session of the Rhode Island General Assembly Economic Study Commission (Commision) for an overview of key ways Rhode Island is helping ensure that coastal communities are prepared for the challenges of climate change and know how to adapt to sea level rise, and storm-based flooding and erosion. Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) Executive Director Grover Fugate and University of Rhode Island Coastal Resources Center (CRC) Coastal Manager Teresa Crean provided the Commision with information about the Rhode Island Shoreline Change Special Area Management Plan (Beach SAMP) and an adaptation pilot project for North Kingstown, RI.
